The Princess Diana Death Pictures

THE LAST SMILE BEFORE DYING: ARTICLE AND PICTURES

WARNING! GRAPHIC DEATH PICTURES AT END OF ARTICLE! WARNING!

Photos of dying Diana create furore

By Mimi Turner

LONDON (Hollywood Reporter) - Channel 4 on Monday said it will go ahead with the broadcast of a film showing previously unseen photographs of Princess Diana in the car crash that killed her in 1997, despite anger from her friends and criticism from politicians.

The broadcaster, which earlier this year stoked controversy with the fictionalized assassination of President George Bush in "Death of a President," has denied the program is sensationalizing Diana's death and has described the film as "responsible."

It will broadcast "Diana: The Witnesses in the Tunnel" next week, to mark the 10th anniversary of her death. Newspapers have reported that the program features previously unpublished photographs of the princess receiving medical attention from a doctor as she lay dying in the back of the black Mercedes S-class vehicle in which her lover, Dodi Fayed, and the driver, Henri Paul, also were killed.

Very few of the photos taken by paparazzi and passers by on the night of the crash in August 1997 have surfaced in the media, and many were confiscated as evidence by the French legal authorities in the aftermath of the crash in the Pont d'Alma in Paris.

The broadcaster said the images shown in the program, which was made by its history department, have been "carefully and sensitively selected" and that the identities of those in the car had been blacked out.

"These photographs are an important and accurate eyewitness record of how events unfolded after the crash," a Channel 4 statement said.

"We acknowledge there is great public sensitivity surrounding pictures of the victims and these have not been included," Channel 4 said, adding that it believed the events were the subject of "genuine public interest" to know how the events leading to Diana's death had unfolded.

The broadcaster's comment have not mollified critics.

In an interview for BBC radio, long-time Diana family friend Rosa Monckton accused Channel 4 of using the footage to lure viewers and said it would damage her sons.

"They must have released the fact that they were using this image as part of their publicity campaign," Monckton told the "PM" program on BBC Radio 4. "Why else would people want to tune in? It's rather like how people stop on the motorway to look at car crashes, but they are summoning people, they are saying 'Roll up, roll up, come and look at this.'"

"She can't be hurt by this anymore but her sons can," she added.

Hugo Swire, the member of parliament who speaks for culture and media affairs for the opposition Conservative party, said the film would violate Diana's privacy and cause further grief to her sons.

"This kind of coverage must be deeply distressing to Princes William and Harry," Swire said. "It is difficult to see who will be served from broadcasting such sensational and private material," he said.

The Princess Diana Death Pictures:

Are These Pictures Fakes?

It was an incredibly violent crash. No one was wearing a seatbelt. Paul and Fayed were dead. Dr. Frederic Maillez, an off duty emergency doctor, stopped his car 30 seconds later.

"I remember almost nobody around me walking toward the wreckage," he said. "And my first intention was to see if there were any victims."

An off-duty fireman was already tending to the bodyguard in the front seat. Without knowing who she was, and with little equipment, Maillez focused on Diana.

"She was laying on the floor of the car, she was unconscious," he said. "The first thing I had to do was to lift up her head, apply the respiratory bag so she could breathe a little bit better. What I could see is that she did not have any injury on her face. Her face was intact. Just a few drops of blood and that's it. She was still very beautiful, very sophisticated lady."

As Maillez worked, others began to arrive including the photographers who had been left behind.

"Little by little, there was more and more flash more and more photographs taken - there was like 'tsh tsh tsh,' " Maillez said.

So it would appear these pictures do match up to an eyewitness account of how Diana appeared after the accident.SOURCE

Outrage at screening of dying Princess Diana photo: Cannes documentary to show graphic picture for first time

By Michael Seamark

A shocking paparazzi photograph of a dying Princess Diana is to be screened for the first time in a documentary about her fatal crash.

Unlawful Killing, which will be shown at Cannes this week, is backed by the actor Keith Allen and Mohammed Fayed, whose son Dodi died with Diana.

The 90-minute film will include a graphic black and white close-up of Diana taken moments after the Mercedes carrying the couple crashed in a Paris underpass.

Crash: A photographer is first to reach Diana's smashed up Mercedes in 1997.The public have never seen close-up images of her dying

The distressing image, Diana’s blonde hair and features clearly visible, has never been publicly seen in this country.

It will be shown around the world but not in the UK, prompting Allen to say: ‘Pity, because at a time when the sugar rush of the Royal Wedding has been sending republicans into a diabetic coma, it could act as a welcome antidote.’

Similar pictures shown to the Diana inquest jury had her face heavily pixellated.

News that Allen, father of pop star Lily, is using the full photograph outraged close friends of the late Princess of Wales.

Rosa Monckton, who went on holiday with Diana a few weeks before she died, said: ‘If this is true this is absolutely disgusting.

‘The fact people are trying to make money – which is all that they are doing now – out of her death is quite frankly ... words fail me.’

A spokesman for St James’s Palace declined to comment but royal sources said Diana's sons would be sickened by the news.

One said: ‘They rather hope people would treat this with the contempt it deserves.’

He suggested that William and Harry would not be drawn into commenting for fear of giving Allen the oxygen of publicity.

Sources told the Daily Mail that the princes will never publicly comment about their mother because they view the issue as ‘the most intensely personal and private aspect of their very public lives’.

Allen’s film is due to be screened amid a blaze of publicity at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday and Mr Fayed is reported to be travelling to the south of France to help with the launch.

In 2008, after a six-month inquest which heard evidence from 250 witnesses and cost taxpayers an estimated £12million, a jury concluded that Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed were unlawfully killed as a direct result of grossly negligent driving by drunk chauffeur Henri Paul, who also died in the crash.

The actions of photographers following the car were also cited.

Mr Fayed has accused Prince Philip of masterminding the 1997 crash in which Diana and Dodi died and even suggested that Prince Charles was involved.

He alleged the death plot took place to stop Diana marrying his Muslim son.

During the 2008 Diana inquest, the former Harrods owner described the royals as ‘that Dracula family’.

The photograph of Diana forms part of the trailer to Allen’s documentary on the film’s official website available in the UK.

The website proclaims: ‘Unlawful Killing is the story of the deaths of Princess Diana, Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul.

‘It reveals a cover-up by the British Establishment culminating in a six-month inquest. Keith Allen’s ground-breaking documentary recreates key moments from the inquest and demonstrates how vital evidence of foul play was hidden from public scrutiny, how the royal family were exempted from giving evidence and how journalists, particularly those working for the BBC, systematically misreported the events and in particular, the verdict itself.

‘This is the story of how the world was deceived.’

Allen, in a piece for the Guardian newspaper last weekend, said: ‘My “inquest of the inquest” film contains footage of Diana recalling how the royals wanted her consigned to a mental institution, and the coroner repeatedly questioning the sanity of anyone who wondered if the crash was more than an accident.’

He said he asked every major UK broadcaster to commission a TV documentary about the inquest but they all refused.

Mourned: The gates of Kensington Palace adorned with tributes in 1997

He said Unlawful Killing was ‘not about a conspiracy before the crash, but a conspiracy after the crash. A conspiracy organised not by a single arch-fiend, but collectively by the British establishment’.

He said the film was being premiered in Cannes ‘because British lawyers insisted on 87 cuts before any UK release.

'So rather than butcher the film, we’re showing in France, then the U.S., and everywhere except the UK.’

A spokesman for the filmmakers said: ‘The picture has been published in full before, in many parts of the world. We acquired the image from an Italian magazine, which had already published it in full. It is also widely available on the web.

‘We are therefore not publishing anything that the rest of the world has not already seen elsewhere.’

A spokesman for Mr Fayed said: ‘He was not aware that any photograph taken of any occupant of the car was going to be in this film.

‘He is appalled by that and will be taking all necessary steps to make sure it is not in the film.’

Well... The same media that made her a famous household name is the same media that is now trying to get the final chapter of her story out to "her" public. Let "ALL" of the photos be published. They are not the first horrific photos to be published and will not be the last.

If the media wants it all to "die" they should stop with all of the celebrations and the anniversaries of her death. Show it all, not just the glamorous side.

This is just another photo-op for Diana. I say. "Bring on the accident photos...All of them!"

The pictures of Diana aren't horrific, it shows her unconcious, i have seen the othr one of her also she doesn't look in any pain, i do honestly believe were the pictures shown in some tastefull non gratuitous way all the fuss and blood thirstyness over the crash would ease off, people will always go after what they believe is the truth, many believe she isn;t dead of she wasn't in the car, sadly this is not the case and the photographs are clearly not fake, any one used to photography would know how hard it is to fake such a grainy photo such as the 2 of Diana. The other photo of the crash showing one of the victims is a little harder to stomach as unlike with Diana it is showing a corpse and a very bloody mutilated one, i personally find it hard to look at, where as the one of Diana we know was taken while she was alive and is shown in black and white, hiding if any blood and cuts that may have been showing. I agree with xliang and echo his centiments have an anniversary every now and again but we will never bring her back. So show the photos then let her rest in peace. And then let her sons be who they are not just Dianas sons.

I'm not too sure about those pictures... 1) The quotes, as well as others I've read from various articles, say that her face was in tact whereas it is swollen and bleeding in the picture. 2) Look at her outfit in the elevator and in the car shots (prior to death) and then look for that grey and black outfit in the 'wreckage' pics. Come on now.

To 'Anonymous', Diana arrived in Paris wearing the grey suit, then changed into a black blazer. She was wearing it in photos showing her getting into the car behind the Ritz, and in the crash she is also in black.

To 'Anonymous' July 31...Diana was wearing a grey suit when she got off the plane at Le Bourget in Paris and she arrived at the Ritz wearing it. She changed into a black blazer, which has been seen in photos of her entering the Mercedes behind the Ritz, and she is wearing black in the crash photos.

The Doctor said when he approached the car and saw Diana, she was in the floor with her face intact. Only a drop of blood on her face. These photo's are showing a blood soaked princess. They can't be real!

No one was wearing a seat belt,
And Princess Di was thrown around the car like a rag doll. I was in an accident over 30 years ago, and I can remember what it was like with no seat belt, I was just like a rag doll, being thrown around.
That is princess Diana alright. Just look at her and the person in the car, there was nothing left to her, but NO one is going to say that. Its keep it quiet. And say she looked great. That woman was dead, in that car. She had NO face left. much less anything else. Doing 93 mph, and hit steel? And concrete, there would be nothing left to anyone. Yes only one person is still alive, from that but I can bet he is still having nightmares.

The public has the right to look at these pictures, or not to view them, under the provisions of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Unlike Britain, citizens of the American Republic where this blog is located have set in stone the right to freedom of speech, assembly and religion.

I think we fought a couple of wars with Britain over free speech rights and other issues, which Americans take very seriously.

I'd suspected that Maillez was being "kind" with his romanticized description of Diana.

What we're seeing here is what happens to a human during a high speed crash into a cement wall.

Diana's face is pushed in - I would think facial bones, nose, jaw and teeth broken.

She was alive and conscious muttering to the rescuers during this period, but her aorta was torn and she was bleeding to death internally, unbeknownst to them.

The slow extraction from the car and slow ambulance ride to the hospital all worked against saving her life. What's even worse is the emergency open heart surgery/open heart massage performed on her as she was going in and out of cardiac arrest. This poor woman did not have an easy death.

Dear Leftist Simple Simon:

Narrow minded?

I'm a retired American soldier who served in Military Intelligence for 20 years, and spending more than ten years in at Least 50 different countries from 1966 to 1986 in Europe, Asia, Africa and on several islands in the Pacific.

Furthermore, I would Bachelor's Degree in History from Rollins, College in Winter Park, Florida - an elite private college called, "The Harvard of the South."

So I've done the world tour - and I know from personal experience that the unique American Constitution with its Bill of Rights may exist on paper in many nations, but in very few have The People been successful in holding on to their God Given Human Rights - Including our Mother Country of Great Britain, where the corrupt, degenerate and socialist Ruling Class limits the Rights of Man in many ways.

In fact, I have many friends in the EDL and BNP who say at night they fear to hear the midnight knock on the door and a cold stone jail by way of armed black uniformed British thug police acting on a bogus warrant issued by some Leftist judge on the basis of something political the victim said on their blog, or in public concerning a "protected" minority like the Muslims.

Don't believe me?

Google "Lionheart" a British blogger who fled to America for a time to escape arrest by the British authorities. Lionheart's struggle against the British Establishment should send chills down the spines of freedom fighters everywhere in the world.

To most Americans, reading of acts of oppression like this in the Mother Country, the homeland of the Magna Carta, Parliament and liberty is shocking, and from the patriot point of view, it only encourages totalitarians on this side of the Pond to restrict American's God Given Right to free speech on the basis of, "In Britain they limit certain types of hate speech."

Always remember that "Hate Speech" to tyranny means telling the truth about them.

Cheers, Ronbo

P.S. Yes, there are Americans all over the world who don't hold formal citizenship in our Free Republic, but in their minds, souls and hearts are of the high quality has those brave men at Lexington and Concord who stood their ground against the best professional army in the world at that time acting under the orders of tyranny.

Yes, being a Patriot American is a state of mind, and the American Revolution is not limited to the USA.

HEAR! HEAR!

As I've said before, to view certain pictures, or not view certain pictures should be the decision of the individual.

Government has no say in the matter.

This is a matter of individual rights and personal conscience.

It isn't about freedom. It's about taste. It's the same sense of dignity and taste that makes my motorway worker friend stand in front of crashed cars to prevent the morbidly curious gawping at dying people who cannot protect their own dignity or make choices. I do not believe that people have a duty to render their deaths public, which is the other side of the coin. You demand the right to watch me die, you oblige me to die publicly. Wipe out Diana and put your wife/ daughter/ sister/ girlfriend in there and then listen to total strangers demanding to have the right to gawp at the photos, how do you feel? Is Diana's death in some way a terrorist security risk? Is your lifestyle in danger because she died in that crash? WHY do you have a right to watch her die??? And if you deny her right to die privately, are you prepared to give up YOUR rights to any privacy?

I remember clearly the first news report that broke the story that Princess Diana had been in a car wreck. Astoundingly, the onsite journalist reported that the crash was severe and there were seriously injured passengers BUT Diana was up walking around assisting others and was "OK". He commented on how "in character" helping others was for her, alluding to her previous charitable actions. The reporter said he had personally witnessed this. The MAIN story was that Diana was OK! I remember, as the TV broadcast switched back to the regular scheduled programming, a feeling of "nothing to worry about." Within two hours, to my shock, came the followup news report that Diana had died from injuries sustained in the car crash. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm- Nothing to see here now. Go back to sleep. These are not the Droids you are looking for. Inhale your chemtrails, drink your fluoride, absorb your television "programming", more aspartame and SSRI's please...

I don't recall hearing that news report; however, I've heard that people with fatal injuries can somehow walk and talk for a few seconds after the accident.

Also, as a child, I well remember my father (by accident, of course! He didn't see her.) running over the small family dog in the driveway with a large Buick sedan.

The poor creature ran out from under the tire and almost made it to the front door - perhaps three meters away - and there to die.

The so called public might be wise to understand that very famous people get sick and tired of the loss of privacy.. So they simply opt out, they hire great theatrical people, script writers, directors etc... and fake their own deaths as they change their names, hire a good plastic surgeon and carry on with their lives in the private sector.. This probably happens a lot with rock stars, some politicos, etc... If one is unhappy with their public life, what better way would their be to simply stage ones own make believe death? Lights, camera, ACTION!
